When one is spiritually or emotionally unhealthy, it will definitely affect his physical well being and become sick. Our spiritual health as well as our physical health is affected by our fears, negative thoughts, anger, resentment, or abnormal amounts of stress. If you ask ministers and some alternative health experts what they think about physical health, they will tell you that diseases that people encounter is a result of poor spiritual health and well being. Many other people believe that physical diseases can be linked to spiritual or emotional factors.
Healing of the body can be a result of a person taking care of his spiritual well being. A person who has great spiritual and emotional feeling will also feel good physically. When the body falls ill, our attitude plays a huge role in how the disease progresses and how long it may last. Even in the midst of illness, we can still keep our faith in God to heal and guide us through times of uncertainty and to ward off fear.
You are the best judge of your spiritual health. You should examine your heart or mind for thoughts of fear, anger, anxiety, unforgiveness, negativity, or other emotions that can harm not only your soul but your body as well. Each person has a predominant emotion that is the one that rules his mind and his life. Holding on to these toxic and negative emotions is exposing your body to become sick eventually. Ridding yourself of emotions that do not promote love, joy, peace, and faith in God will help promote physical health. These positive emotions come from the Spirit of God. If you fill your heart overflowing with these and open the door to God’s healing light, you filter out the emotional that keep you spiritually dark that causes physical illness.
If you are surrounded by many problems, then you can face these problems if you have good spiritual health. If you build your faith in God during uneventful times in your life will help you keep the faith during times when your circumstances and health are challenged.
There are many ways to maintain your spiritual health and these are through meditation, reading the Scriptures, prayer, and others. If you regularly do these activities, then you will realize that you are becoming healthier emotionally. Bad emotions like fear, anger, and bitterness can be overcome if you do these activities regularly. Those who are able to read the Bible regularly will know of the love and faithfulness of God which is strong enough to conquer the negative emotions in our lives.
God can allow your physical illnesses to be prolonged despite your spiritual health. But, it allows you more strength to bear the infirmity.
